I really thought it was going to be funny, you know, a billion people dead in one awful act of violence so utterly deplorable and terrible that the only reaction would be to laugh at its immensity and suddenness.

I truly thought you all would find it hilarious, something to joke about at the water cooler for years to come, a kind of "Oh, man, remember the day that Rabrrrrrr slaughtered those billion people" - "Yeah, dude, that was fucking hilarious!"

Obviously, I was wrong, and I apologize.

I should have stuck with my Plan B, which was to just color in my Little Mermaid coloring book and fill it with dirty limericks.

Sometimes it's a difficult decision, and only in hindsight can one see the error of a particular line of action.
