I'd rather go to the gym and lift weights, that way I can control the motion better.
A few months ago, I was running and everything, preparing to come out of retirement to compete again, but then I realized my broken leg from last Christmas wasn't fully healed, so I took a few months off. Now in worse shape than I was before I started working out 3 months ago, haha.
Knees are terrible though. I blew my right knee out and had to have it reconstructed. It's great now, my knees are better than they were when I was competing. But I know lots of people who have bad knees, and it truly effects their conditioning. It's too hard to run or use an elliptical trainer or anything like that. (as you obviously know) I guess you better get back to walking again! If that works best for you then just roll with it. :) (So says the guy who just ate a bunch of ice cream and sat around all day. )
