Someone somewhere made the same association we did...

5. I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what the logo was _meant_ to symbolize...
I just can't get past the painfully obvious.

7. Well, it's like this...
If you squint correctly you can tell it's... it's... *heh* ... a Pagoda *hee* inserted in front of a *heh* rising Sun.

Maybe.

15. I was probably about 10 at the time... sorry!
Actually, I teach GIS, but a foundation in cartography is essential (IMO)...

20. I studied drafting from junior high
through my first semester of college because I wanted to be a cartographer. I had a letter of application on file with the Gousha Co. when I was 10 or 11. (Got a very nice two-page letter from a vice president in response.) At that time, a friend and I had the M&M Map Co. :D

My life took a turn, but I still collect maps and can still get lost in them.

24. I know what you mean
My preferred wall decorations are maps, and I can spend hours exploring the paper landscape. My spring ritual is to spread out all my Sierra Nevada topo maps, and plan my summer backpacking - I think I spend more time on the living room floor with the maps than I do on the trail... :)
