Shatner Furious - Nimoy Gets Part In New Movie But He Does Not
Edited on Thu Jun-21-07 10:51 AM by matcom
<snip>

WILLIAM SHATNER is furious with STAR TREK movie bosses for failing to offer him a cameo role in the new film, according to reports.

The actor, who played Captain Kirk in the iconic TV show, is said to be "very upset and has been lobbying for a role" in Star Trek XI after learning his co-star Leonard Nimoy has been cast in a minor role, writes the New York Daily News.

Larry Thompson, Shatner's manager, refuted the allegations, saying, "I don't know that to be the case, so I can't comment." The movie, which will be directed by Lost producer and director J.J. Abrams, is slated to begin shooting later this year (07).

12. Doesn't matter, really.
This movie takes place decades before Generations. In fact it may take place just before the original series.

Nimoy (and presumably, Shatner) will not be playing Spock and Kirk.

Even though that particular movie sucked, you're still dead, Jim.

18. Okay fine, you're old Jim.
How can you play in a movie where you're supposed to be a young man?

Dammit Jim you're a senior citizen not a cadet! To think you can act in this movie is most illogical.

20. Matt Damon is playing the young Kirk
Shatner would play, I dunno, President of Starfleet. Of course they'd have to put a beard on him or something.

If they were asking him, that is. Which apparently they're not.

I'm guessing Spock will play a Vulcan elder. Get it, elder? Geez I crack myself up.

Of course, the real question is, when will Nimoy guest on Boston Legal? He'd have to be opposing counsel up against...DennyCrane.
