People suck, two dumped kittens up the road, what to do?
The kittens (two from what I saw) were by the side of the road this morning at 4am while I drove to work. I saw one on my way home but no body in the road so the other is probably alive. Cute little blond tabby cats from what I saw. They are near a creek, lightly traveled road. I would like to help them but I have some issues that prevent me from bringing them home. The last time I tried to introduce a strange cat it ended up being killed, I will not try it again. I can't take them to our county pound, they will be dead in a day.
Any ideas? Go down to Wal-mart and hang up a "free kitten" sign? I could take them to work with me tomorrow and leave them by the door everyone exits- surely someone would take them home????? Maybe my Vet could find them a home/knows someone who just lost a pet who would like one? Anyone in southern Middle Tennessee want a kitten??? HELP!( to sweeten the offer I will pay for their shots/spaying or neutering!)
I really want to help them so if you have any ideas lets hear them! Keep in mind it is impossible for me to keep them here for more than a day or two.

1. get them a box with a blanket and some food and take cute pix of them
then post a flyer at the vet and email the pix to people you know.
if you feel like takig them to work is an option, i'd do that too.

13. Go to YahooGroups.com and search for animal rescues
in your state. I found three kittens homes that way, which were also dumped in my yard.

3. Look up the no-kill shelters in your area and call them
They should come out and help you.

Also, I would be very surprised if those kittens were destroyed at the animal control. Kittens are very popular and typically adopted very rapidly.

6. But do they get adopted during the week?
I wouldn't be able to get them into the shelter until Monday. BTW, I live in Tennessee and the country population is around 35,000 people. We don't have much in the way of public services.

12. They might have a home!
I went to work and knew that a co-worker had lost a cat to old age last year. I think we might have found both of them a home! I appreciate your offer wildhorses.
