3. No sex threads!
Well, all that analog gear is like porn to me.
I gotta go smoke a cigarette now.

4. sure is cool.
i'm no musician, but several years back i found an old analog synth at an auction, an ARP Odyssey. bought it for $12 not really knowing what it even was, i knew what a moog was, so i figured it was worth the investment. it was, in many ways! it was loads of fun to play it, especially if you were under the infleuence of illicit drugs! really an amazing instrument, especially considering when it was made. i kept it around for a couple of years then sold it on ebay.

You bought an Odyssey for $12???!!!
Grrrrr...
I can't wait to tell some of my friends. Why should I keep that kind of heartbreak all to myself? :)

11. haha!
after i bought it, first thing i did was head to a computer to see what they sell for! then i had to share my enthusiasm with everybody i could at the great score i just made. wasn't really about the money though, it was a ton of fun to have around, and a great conversation piece. too bad i never knew anybody that could show me how to REALLY play it. it probably would have gotten hauled off as junk had i not bought it.

8. haven't seen the link (and can't get YouTube due to filtering)
but if IIRC it involved a Hammond B3 run through the filters on an ARP 2600 or Odyssey. Very cool sound indeed.

Still love that vintage analog gear. And still have some of it collecting dust in mom's basement.

10. The organ was Pete's Lowrey spinet
He still has it in his music room. The photo Pete showed of the original setup showed the Lowrey spinet organ with an EMS VCS3 synth on top, he ran the organ through its filter and envelopes.

The VSC3 was also extensively used on Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon.

He did have an ARP2500 at some point back then I think, and he has a 2600 now, as well as what appears to be a Buchla modular synthesizer. I'd go nuts in that room... :D
