what is the absolute worst thing that can happen to you?
Edited on Sat Jun-30-07 08:44 AM by datasuspect
besides death, as we all know that death is a release and that it's going to happen to everyone and there is nothing you can do about it.

but what is your doomsday scenario?

what is the absolute worst thing (or series of events) that can happen to you?

6. absolutely.
Anything involving my daughters. My own death would be nothing compared to losing one or both of them. I am in awe of anyone that has lost a child, they are infinitely stronger than I am.

18. Ditto
I would go stark raving mad.

Hopefully I'd have enough presence of mind to lean on my fellow DUers if something like that were to happen.

5. Not being able to support and provide for my family...
If it was just me, well, Ramen Noodles will technically keep me alive. But, I have a wife and two children
who need much more and I truly fear waking up one day and not being able to provide for them. It terrifies
me just thinking about it.

19. Having reprehensor die...
He's far braver than me. He could probably do OK if anything happened to me, but he is my world, and he does so many wonderful, small considerate things for me. I had to go one weekend without him last weekend while he was at a conference, and I thought I would lose it!

Alternately, going blind or becoming completely disabled with my MS, which is a definite possibility someday.

I want to die BEFORE my mind and/or body is unable to do things or comprehend the world around me -- somewhere between 65 - 70 is when I want to die.

23. My grandmother is 75
Edited on Sat Jun-30-07 11:02 AM by Nikia
And is president of the local garden club and her church's women's group. She makes quilts and researches family hisotry in her spare time. She is also active in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grand child. She is hosting a family reunion this summer to include both her descendents (6 children plus grandchildren) and her brothers descendents (9 children plus their children). She does not seem to be suffering physically or mentally.
My point is that you won't necessarily be past it physically and mentally by the time that you are 70.

Just when I think things can't get "absolutly" worse, they usually do.

Too many variables.

32. Paralysis
From the neck down; I think I could handle being paralyzed from the waist down but not to be able to use my hands at least would frustrate me. I also do not want to be dependent on someone else. So in the event of a horrible injury like that, I would prefer to die. I don't know how I would manage to kill myself but I would stop eating or something.
