My day at Farm Sanctuary (oh yeah, PIC thread people!)
Took the folks and all the chilluns to Farm Sanctuary (http://www.farmsanctuary.com/) today. It's about 1 1/2 drive from my house. Spent the day rubbing pig's bellies and kissing cows.

They will roll over for belly rubs, just like doggies. :)

Oink!

Maya is over 20 years old! She was a downed calf rescued from a slaughterhouse.

Moo!

Share any pictures you feel like sharing Lounge peeps.

7. I haven't been around cows or pigs in decades.
I sometimes miss being in a barn. I even miss the smell, believe it or not. I miss having goats try to eat my clothing. I miss apple orchards and corn fields. :(

37. I didn't live on a farm, but I grew up on and around them.
We had our own animals that we kept at a friend's farm, so we were there too. :)

29. Here's a pic for you
MG Jr. went treasure hunting in Black Creek Park today! Found two geocaches. He was thrilled that there were cars for the taking in the treasure chests.

The Farm Sanctuary looks great, BNL! I had no idea it was even around here. Must go check it out soon! :hi:

Especially because HE "found" the cache--as far as he knows!

Black Creek Park is in Chili. I'd never been there before--I was impressed. It's huge, and there's a lot of variety in the landscape--wetlands and woods and grasslands--very nice.

41. Lulu totally hates catnip. She's primarily a foodie all on her own.
Although, she does love smelling both of her daddy's cocktails, so a hangover is relatively possible.

Suki, on the other hand, is a total catnip stoner.

40. NICE
I have cousins in NY that had cows, pigs, chickens, horses and donkeys
We had a great time collecting eggs and petting the pigs....

on a personal note... the farm was a milk farm.....
if you were a first time visitor or dressed in your Sunday best
my cousin (many times removed he was old)
would walk you to the barn when the cows were eating and getting milked.....
when you were halfway down the barn he would send the dog BARKING through the
barn........

ALL THE COWS WOULD SHIT AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
Any one that knows a cow farm know the "pit" it falls into....
and that it is RIGHT IN THE PATHWAY!!!!

friggin Earl, got them EVERY TIME!!!!!

I love memories.....
