on-serve in the fifth set, 2-1. Federer just saved two break points to hold his serve. It's been an outstanding match from both Federer and Nadal. :wow:

2. Yes, it was outstanding
Wimbledon has been the only enjoyable thing for me in the last two weeks (we had our kitty Simba put to sleep last Sunday). It's really been a good distraction for me, and I'm sorry it's over.

6. sorry to hear about that
 I'm glad the championships could be a good distraction for you, though. Here's hoping you find another distraction soon :)

3. Plus, as if the Men's final wasn't brilliant enough...
...a British player won in the mixed doubles! (given how notoriously rubbish we Brits are at Tennis that's quite a nice suprise)

7. I remember how thrilled the crowds were the first time Tim Henman made a run to the semis

because it was the first time since the 70s that a British player had gone that far. Never got past the semis, though ... I didn't know about the success in mixed doubles this year--Congrats to a British mixed-doubler :toast:

9. Yes, it was outstanding
I like both Federer and Nadal - I was pulling for Nadal because Federer's won it so many times. I think Nadal will win it someday - he definitely proved he has it in him.

11. Nadal looked like he was going to win
I wonder how much the glitch with his knee messed him up. He seems to be closing the gap on grass. I like both Federer and Nadal, and I think their rivalry is a lot of fun to watch. I can't wait for the U.S. Open final :)
