How often do you make/eat dessert with dinner?
I have a boston cream pie in the oven at present. I don't like it, but the rest of my household will probably eat it. Or at least they'd better.

I don't make dessert often. A few times a month, maybe. Does anyone actually have dessert with dinner on a regular basis? I'm curious about what the "norm" is.

Also, I hate the word "norm," but I couldn't think of an apt synonym. My brain is not functioning optimally, due to the aural assault of Nickelodeon, blaring in the background.

1. The last time I made desert was probably the pie I made on easter.
And I only ate one piece of that and left the rest of the waistline expanding goodness with flvegan. I don't eat a lot of sweets.

2. I used to never have desserts...
I was raised in an anti-sweets family. (Well except holidays... and dad's secret stash :eyes:)

But my ex's family ate dessert after dinner every night! So the kids kind of got used to that. But now that we're separated I only give them a sugary special dessert after Sunday dinner.

3. Extremely rarely.
Once in a blue moon when we are out to dinner we'll order dessert.

7. I always mean to save room for dessert when we go out.
But I always eat too much before dessert comes.

5. Does snagging a piece of chocolate count?
If so every other day. If not, then only when company is over.

8. One piece? That totally doesn't count!

It's not even any calories, if no one saw you eat it!

11. Never.
There's usually dessert type stuff in the kitchen for sometime later in the evening if anyone wants to serve themselves but I never make a structured "dessert" that we all sit down and eat together after the main dish is done.

13. We will have a few chocolate covered nuts after dinner and before the gym. But these
days we rarely have full-on dessert.

15. My kids demand dessert -- I have no idea how the awful habit got
started. One of my kids is an enormous eater, and pretty much eats whenever he gets the chance. I'd tell him no, but he really seems to need the calories. The other kid could take it or leave it. Usually it's just a cookie or an ice pop, sometimes ice cream. My husband and I don't eat it. When we first got married, though, we used to make an awesome apple crisp. Now we'd get fat if we ate that stuff. :(

20. More often lately. Two or three times a week now.
Sweetie saw this banana dessert on one of the FoodNetwork shows,
and she's just crazy for it. So I'm making it alot.
