Is there a better multi-seasoning than Montreal Steak Seasoning?
Methinks not!

Close competitors might be (a) curry, and (b) cajun/blackened seasoning.

9. Yes - any seasoning that doesn't have "salt" on the ingredient list
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 06:21 PM by Rabrrrrrr
and especially that doesn't have it as ingredient number 1.

I don't buy spice mixes that have salt - they are always too salty, AND they use so much fucking salt because it costs a dollar a ton (well, not really, but in comparison to the actual cost of everything else, salt is practically free - so they make the mixture half or more salt and, voila, heavy profit margin!).

12. Phew - I was wondering how long it would take for someone to say that! lol!
I like salt, and one benefit of Montreal for me is that I don't have to take an extra step to salt the meat.

13. You could easily make your own
Here are the ingredients:

SALT, SPICES (INCLUDING BLACK PEPPER, AND RED PEPPER), GARLIC, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL, NATURAL FLAVOR, AND EXTRACTIVES OF PAPRIKA.

All you need is some fresh ground black pepper, red pepper, garlic powder, and paprika and salt to taste.

14. Country Bob's Seasoning Salt...
It's good for grilling, soups, dry rub, and salads; but we use it for everything. It's delicious!!

There's a steak sauce, too.
