2. What the hell.
I think I'll put in three job applications, one in Eugene, Salem, and Portland.

Oh, wait, I did that last week.

I've noticed that only pictures of sunny days end up on the booster sites.

4. Gorgeous! Sauvie Island is like another world! I've been there only once,
on a mid-winter day when we were visitors here.

We should go back...

7. They put up a pumpkin patch and a corn maze every year on Sauvie Island.

They also have strawberry festivals on the island.

Your excuse could be that you live far away; I don't have any excuse. I'm relatively close to Sauvie Island but just too busy to stop and smell the roses sometimes -- right here in the Rose City.

I just found out that we missed the Yoshida Sand in the City sand sculpture festival held last Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland.

They do amazing work there! I have no idea who won on Sunday!

9. Sigh... I'd move to Oregon in a heart beat.
Well, I'd move pretty much anywhere in Central to Northern California, Oregon or Washington State. I want to live by mountains and the ocean.

Instead I live in Chicago. A great city but no mountains or ocean. Bleh.

10. I've only been to Chicago for a few days on business. That's when I
worked as Radio Advertising Manager for LoJack Corporation, the company that installs stolen vehicle recovery devices. We had a couple of meetings, went out with the local representative to a car dealership. Then we had a wonderful steak dinner and listened to some wonderful jazz.

We moved from Boston, Massachusetts to Portland, Oregon in 1998. Our daughter and son-in-law preceded up in 1995, and we now live just a few miles away -- and we have two grandkids here. One son and one grandson are still back in Boston, the other son married a gal from Salt Lake City, and now lives in Layton, Utah with our two grandsons there. We're happy to lose the winters now that we're officially retired.

Portland is a great city, medium-sized, lots of things to do, traffic not as bad as Boston, New York, Los Angeles or Miami, the four big cities I've lived in during my lifetime. We're really enjoying it here.

Have a great day, Grace.

In peace,

Radio Lady

12. Yeah, Portland is lovely. I'm even wearing a Powell's Books t-shirt today!
I love Chicago, it's a great city. But I've lived here my whole life and I long for a change. I have tons of family and friends out there, so I visit at least once a year somewhere on the coast. It's not enough though!

13. Let's hear it for Powell's, one of the world's best bookstores. And there are three...
Cedar Hills shopping center, Beaverton

SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland

Burnside Boulevard, Portland

I frequent them all!

11. I lived in Portland from 1980 to 1982
It's beautiful there. I've been through the Columbia River Gorge, Sauvie Island, Mt. Hood, Hood River, Cannon Beach, Jewel, all the parks around Portland, the downtown area, etc. It's all beautiful. I should go back and visit, since I haven't been there for 25 years and I have friends in the area.
