Let's examine the lyrics to "Both sides now" by Judy Collins.
It really is a really spot on tune. The thing about old friends saying you've changed. The part about not giving yourself away. It's all true, and shows how sick the whole game is.

Bows and flows of angel hair,
And ice cream castles in the air,
And feather canyons everywhere:
I've looked at clouds that way.
But now they only block the sun,
They rain and snow on everyone.
So many things I could have done,
But clouds got in my way.
I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
From up and down, and still somehow
It's clouds' illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all.
At all
Moons and Junes and ferris wheels,
The dizzy, dancing way you feel,
When every fairy tale comes real:
I've looked at love that way.
But now it's just another show,
You leave them, laughing as you go.
And if you care, don't let them know.
Don't give yourself away.
I've looked at love from both sides now,
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all.
At all.
Tears and fears and feeling proud,
To say, "I love you" right out loud;
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds;
I've looked at life that way.
But now old friends are acting strange.
They shake their heads, they say I've changed.
But something's lost and something's gained
In living every day.
I've looked at life from both sides now,
From win and lose, and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all.
At all.
I've looked at life from both sides now,
From win and lose, and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all.
At all.

1. for all of the sweet imagery --
it's fairly realistic.

it has tension and release.

i've always liked that song.

5. About your sig line....
...is that for real or is it satire?

I'm at work, so I just glanced at it quickly. If they're for real that is certainly ground breaking work in biblical exegesis. Or perhaps just mind bending justification and rationalization.

6. i think they're for real -- it doesn't read as satire to me.
but isn't it FUN!!! -- these people have issues you could fill the grand canyon with.

three ways -- but only with two women -- so nothing ''gay'' happens.

it just makes me smile.

I've always thought it was about realizing one's limitations. Knowing what you don't know is just as important as what you do know.

Cool song about hardwon experience.
