But Marley recorded so many wonderful songs! But if I must limit myself to one, I guess I'll go with "Get Up, Stand Up."

10. Is this love is this love is this love is this love that I'm feeling??
I dig Marley, but I'm fairly shallow in my appreciation as the only Marley CD I have is Legend, and I swear to you I have played and replayed that thing so many times I'm surprised it hasn't distintegrated. Love every song on it.

My fave two songs are Is this Love and Redemption Song, which is good for impressing folks with on guitar--fairly simple and sweet.

31. You can further your Marley appreciation by
going through the tracks on Legend and getting the original albums those songs were released on.

Ya gotta have Natty Dread, Kaya, Exodus, and Survival!

Oh I can't pick a fave Marley song. :smoke:

Delightful, uplifting lyrics. Hearing it just makes me smile.

In another vein, "War" is quite powerful.

There's so many great Marley tunes.

39. 'Slave Driver' is one of them
Edited on Mon Aug-04-03 04:38 PM by htuttle
Although I like the remake/remix of it by Damien Marley even better.

"Every time I hear the crack of a whip,
My blood runs cold"

'Guiltiness' is also up there, as is 'Johnny was'

I think I like the remixes of those on 'Chant Down Babylon' more than the originals nowdays.

(on edit: More I like!)

Rat Race (The Live version!)
Concrete Jungle (but I wish it was twice as long)
Burnin' and Lootin'
War!

(I like all the classics everyone has mentioned too, of course, but have listened to them many, many times).

A tribute to Bob Marley, who actually lived in Wilmington DE for a period of time and worked at the Chysler Plant in Newark Delaware.

An entire day of Reggae Music on the Waterfront, I'll probably be there for most of it!!!

Maybe I'll see some Evil DUers at the Festival!!!!

42. Forget it!! I love too many of them to pick just one. . .
but lately, I've been playing the Exodus CD. . .and took in the words to "Guiltiness"

"...these are the big fish,
who always try to eat down the small fish.
And they would do anything
to materialize their every wish,
Woe to the downpressors!...
They'll eat the bread of sad tomorrow! ..."
