Michael Vick Indicted by Federal Grand Jury for his role in Dog-Fighting

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has been indicted by a federal grand jury in relation to the dog fighting investigation that took place at his Virginia residence.

The Falcons quarterback was indicted for conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities and to sponsor a dog in animal fighting venture in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District in Richmond, Va. Three others -- Purnell Peace, Quanis Phillips and Tony Taylor -- also were indicted by the grand jury on the same charges. In addition to Vick, three others were also indicted; Purnell Peace, Quanis Phillips and former Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Taylor.

During the original raid back in April nearly 60 malnourished were discovered along with dog training materials, rape-stands and syringes. During a second and third investigation, the buried remains of 17 pit-bulls were also unearthed. Through it all, Vick has proclaimed his innocence.

On Saturday, it was revealed that dogs met cruel and inhumane fates on Vick's property. According to some recently filed court documents, dogs that lost or were deemed unfit to fight were shot, drowned, electrocuted, strangled or hung.

People who intentionally hurt and kill animals just for their personal amusement are some of lowest of the low. The really sad part is I'm willing to bet many of these dogs could have been loving pets to someone if they werent unfortunate enough to end up with this piece of shit.

I hope he at least gets thrown out of the league and goes bankrupt from all the legal bills, but I'm not holding my breath.
