Favorite Quote from "America, A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction"
As pitiful as this may sound, I think John Stewart and Stephen Colbert may have been the two most influential people on earth in shaping how I view the world political, in both an objective and normative terms.

Anyway, this book has been a bathroom reader for I guess about two years now, I've probably read it cover to cover over 3 times and I still find things that make me break into a fit of laughter.

I think my favorite quote from this book as to be without a doubt as follows.
Pg 86...
Objection! America'a Most controverisal Supreme Court Nominees...
Floyd Burnington
Nominated by: Calvin Coolidge
Reason Why Controversial: Member of KKK
In his own words: "I didn't say they were monkeys, I said they reminded me of monkeys."
But some of hist best friends were: Actually, they were all white.
Fun Fact: Burnington went on to serve a distinguished 9 term career in the U.s. Senate.

and of course their Nixon quote, "the power was nice, but quite frankly I could have used more power."

anyway, what's you're favorite?

1. I heart Jon Stewart so much.
I've read the book three times as well, and I will always, always break into spastic fits of laughter when I read the "Twenty-Four Hour News Network Blueprint." Under "NATURAL DISASTER!", "Correspondent being blown laterally" will seriously make me laugh for about five minutes straight. I also like "Four hours - RERUN CRAP FROM EARLIER IN THE DAY" and "3 minutes - praying for celebrity to commit crime."

2. ~"The Age of Enlightenment was characterized by people saying
things like 'Hey whats say we don't put the dead bodies in the drinking water'"

Something like that. I lost it when I read that.

3. "Were you aware"?
"That Stone Philips uses a process called 'photosynthesis' to produce his own nourishment"

Kills me every time :)

4. I like the page on the various lobbying groups:
The one on NAMBLA was absolutely hilarious.
