Ever got attacked in GD but couldn't tell if you were really being attacked?

Out of four replies, two were clearly in agreement, one was an ALL-CAPS reply that made no sense (from WillPitt, of all people), but might have been a sarcastic seconding of what I posted. The last was a direct attack from someone I didn't recognize telling me the OP had said the opposites of what he had said, and adding "What I have observed from your posted evidence it that you just can't rise to the standard of excellence nor do you comprehend the political process." Oddly, this same poster seemed in agreement with me in every one of her other posts in the thread!

Worst, the thread got locked, so I couldn't ask for clarification!

That's why I go there - to read the bizarre posts that make absolutely no sense. Like this -

That to me sounds like someone who likes to hear the sound of their own voice and use impressive words without having a clue as to what they're really saying.

I mean, maybe she was responding to a different post, since I had not said anything requiring evidence. Maybe she misunderstood what I was saying, thinking I was responding to Will's post instead of the OP. I don't know, but it was so well said, it's a shame to waste it.

Am I really just that dumb and simplistic that I don't get what they are saying or are they just posting something only they would understand but EXPECT everyone else to understand and if you don't you get attacked for not being intelligent etc.......

I've was attacked yesterday but that shit doesn't bother me, it actually makes me laugh. The attacker is an asshole poster anyway.

Sometimes the really loony ones get in epic flame wars with each other. There's several right now.

A lot of them are open, but a lot of posters put snarky backhanded statements in their posts too. Also some people have a natural assumption of their own superiority.

The best advice is to assume that if anyone in GD responds to a post, it's an attack.

Nuance? nah. Tact? forget it. Courtsty? join the boy scouts.
