What was your best birthday present EVER?

Here's mine:

Montana (Monty) was given to me by a friend in August 1995 when he was about 8 weeks old. He's been a very faithful friend. He's quiet and not a lap sitter, but loves to lie on our feet. He's very patient and doesn't ask for anything, but is grateful for everything he gets. I wish I were more like Monty!

Either that or that old Audubon photo guide that got me into birding in the first place.

Now if we were talking CHRISTMAS, it would be the Encyclopedia of North American Birds. Pure, unadulterated goodness. :D

9. This last birthday was my best birthday, which was my best birthday present EVER.

My guy called it my "birthday week" and every day he brought me presents. One was dinner at a very fine restaurant (okay, fine for Bangor, Maine); another was a garden tool I coveted; another was a carton of icecream & a bottle of rootbeer so I could make floats for myself and the kids. A bunch of other odds and ends. The gifts were small... the thought was HUGE. Best birthday by far.
