Guess my recycling
I have never carried cans to the recycling place for actual coin. I always recycle, but this time I figured I see how much cash I get selling the cans.

I just bagged 8 - 55 gallon trash bags full of uncrushed 24oz Budweiser cans.

I'll bring them to the recycler later today.

How much coin do you think they'll give me?

8. LOL
In California we pay CRV for all beverage cans and some beverage bottles. I think it amounts to about 5 cents per can (I have yet to find a recycling center that does not take a cut of that when I redeem my cans and bottles, but that is another story).

12. Yep, 5 cents a can. Just went up within the last year or so.
It used to be a ridiculous 2-1/2 cents per can. That you can't redeem them at place of purchase for full deposit is ridiculous --that's how it's done in civilized states. They wonder why the redemption rate is so low.

14. There was a cottage industry in that sort of trade when I was in Massachusetts.
People living near the border would buy beer and soda in NH (no container deposit law) and redeem them in MA where they were worth a nickel each. There is no way to catch people doing this because the bottlers/canners don't do run specifically for each state.

Most people in CA live too far from a state without a container deposit law for this to make sense.
At this point I'd like to see all bottle and can deposit laws go away and have states spend the same time and effort making it easier to recycle.

I would say $30. This should be a contest.

This is unfortunately my room. Taken with my iMac about 60 seconds ago.

9. I should have taken pics before I bagged
I should be embarrassed but I have thick skin. I made a bin outside my bedroom window. Thats where my computer is and where I consume my beer AKA "the cave."

After every binge I clean off desk, open window and toss cans in bin. Its actually a pretty good system. It is quite efficient. :P

I think everyone should take shocking pictures of ginormous produce. It should be a trend. Though your zucchini isn't up to par, I must say.

How embarrassing for you, really.

When you offered a zuke I HAD to do it! I remembered seeing that pic of you a few days ago. It is etched in my brain, oddly, along with a Deliverance quote.

Oh dear, did I type that? I should go now...
