You have much the same collection I have. Mine's 95% baseball, 5% asstd other stuff. Remember, there's a TON of stuff out there from 78 through the 90's, which has kept the big 3 of the time (Topps, Donruss and Fleer w/early Upper Deck being a little more rare) lesser in advancing value. I'd keep it all with the intent of giving it all to my son in time. I think that in another decade or so, some of the folks in those years will increase some of the demand.
Most of the value in my collection comes from older, individual cards I bought because I liked the players (Nolan Ryan, Yaz, etc).
I'd pick up a recent Beckett, just to see where they are if you haven't checked in a while.
