WTF is up with gas prices?!
They were $1.49. They seem to go up to $1.59 every time a soldier gets fragged in Iraq. (W thinks it's all a game, so let's use gaming terminology in honor of him.)

Today, going back to work after 6 days of illness, I saw the prices had jumped to $1.69!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a freakin' outrage.

1. Get Used to It
Cheap gas isn't a right. In case you haven't heard, we're coming up on peak oil within the next few years which will mean even higher prices. Also, Saudia Arabia needs to make enough money to keep itself in power.

3. Of course I've heard
But they keep saying "next few years". I know it eventually will go up, but not today.

So what's today's excuse for high prices?

2. I know
I don't even drive much, and I drive a tiny little car, and it's like 25 bucks a month. I don't understand how folks can aford to drive bigger cars.

4. Summer driving season, low gasoline stocks.
Those are the two biggest cost drivers right now. Oil prices are stable. Gasoline should come down this fall.

10. I can one-up ya!
I was on "E" ("E" does not mean "Enough") on my lunch hour, had errands to run. Gas was $1.35. Decided I would get the gas last on my way back to work. A half-hour later after I finished my errands, it was $1.62.

7. Come on! It's bloody cheap in the US and you all own Hummers.....

I know you don't ALL own Hummers, but seriously...in the UK the price is somewhere around US$1.12 a LITRE (over $4 to the US Gallon) and we do our best to drive small economical cars (sometimes)...in Australia it's US60c a litre (around $2.25 per US gallon) and they have HUGE distances to cover and little public transport.

Quit whining!

:-)

8. Read Hubbert's Peak
It's about the coming peak of oil production.

Also, blame SUV and other unnecessarily-large-vehicle owners... they're driving up demand for gasoline with their gas hogs, and you are paying as well. Yet another reason to hate the "I have the right to be an asshole" fucktards.
