1. The Irish Mafia hails from Southie but that was a long time ago.

South Boston is actually a pretty safe place and a very tight community. It is made up of triple deckers that have gone condo in recent years and a lot of well heeled young professionals have moved in.

Whitey Bulger was the head of the Irish Mafia for years and he's been on the Fed's Most Wanted list for quite a while. His brother, Billy Bulger, was Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives and then President of the University of Massachusetts...go figure!
