And, judging by Saturday's game, we still are.

I was at that game; App State is a very good team and are very well coached. We were not ready. We deserved to lose. And we did.

If I were an Oregon Duck, though, I'd be nervous. That's all I'm saying.

Lloyd's job is secure. We don't fire people willy nilly around here and we don't abandon our team after one loss.

As my mother always says after an embarrassing loss "Does this mean my degree is no good?" Michigan is more than football.

I disagree with you on one thing: I think Lloyd Carr had best be thinking about what to do after his retirement this year. There is talk every year of Lloyd being fired, or asked to leave, so that is not unusual. Lloyd had huge shoes to fill after Bo. But this is not going to be something that will be lived down this season, even if Michigan blows away every other opponent this year. I think his job is just about done.

And now...Duck hunting.

All the signs point to it.

I will always love Michigan, win or lose. And I'm not one to bash coaches. My father coached HS football for 33 years. After ESPN surfaced suddenly everyone knew how to coach better than he did. It's not easy.

I hope he does. I think it's time.

I'll be at the game Saturday, too. I sold my tickets last week and for the ND game (thank goodness they're already sold -- they'd be hard to get rid of at this point). I'll be in DC that weekend. I'm so glad I wasn't in the stadium last week.

My new attitude (as of last year) is that it's just a game and there are too many more important things in the world to worry about. I just hate the fact that we've become a laughing stock and that everyone, including KO, won't let it just die.

I was listening to the radio broadcast of the OSU game (thanks big 10 network), when Paul Keels first mentioned that App State was leading the school up north, but I didn't think much of it. I mean, after all, no way App State wins that game.

When I heard that final score, I burst out laughing. Logically, I know it's bad for the Big 10, but it's just so funny. I thought I was going to die laughing when 1460 found the App State clip and started playing it. It's hot, hot, hot!!

And Espn has been great. They keep playing the radio call from the App State broadcasters. So awesome. And then the youtube clips of the fans of various Big 10 teams cheering the final score.

All I can say is, thanks App State.

as a wisconsin fan it means wisconsin will be ranked above michigan. since michigan lost to a lower division team it`s going to be impossible for them to get a decent bowl game......go badgers!

That App State team could squash State and Central. Maybe even on the same day. They are really good and they are very well coached. We should not have lost, absolutely; sloppy play, stupid penalties, and general unpreparedness. But that is a very good team.

Not to worry, though, State will implode on their own. They always do....:7

My bet is that we'll climb our way back into the Top 25 over the next few weeks, but we won't wind up in the Top 10 by the end of the year.

I will come down there, wearing my Michigan hat, and make sure you never bring this up again...

When does basketball start?

At first, it was funny to see Michigan fans get what they deserved. All that junk about how they, and not UF, deserved to be in the Fiesta Bowl.

But now, it's kind of pathetic. Michigan is on the verge of winding up in some obscure Bowl Game in the Pacific Northwest. LLLLLLLLLLLLLoyd Carr is toast, even if he manages to run the table and beat Ohio State.

I'm no fan of Southern Football, and usually root for Pac10/Big10/WAC teams...

But I love seeing a high horse get knocked off the road
