2. I like their two big radio hits OK
(that's all I know by them, really) but I don't think their "Signs" cover is as good as the original.

3. Meh... Decent for their time.
Seemed a little more authentically rock-n-roll than most of their contemporaries.

Saw them opening for Def Leppard sometime in the 80's. I, along with most of the crowd, was waiting for them to play 'Modern Day Cowboy' and 'Little Suzie' so they could get off the stage.

Say what you will about Def Leppard, but they kicked ass. This was the Hysteria tour, so Clark was still around.

4. They are from my town, Sacramento....
And they suck. Always have. I have known these guys since they were a local hair band City Kidd.

Funny story. The lead guitarist Frank Hannon was playing solo at a free concert in the park one night. he was playing guitar with taped drums and bass as accompanment. The drums and bass lines were, to put it charitably, LAME AS FUCK.

Frank played lead over the top of this crap. He did all the rock star moves, making THE FACE, slinging his hair, hammer-on after hammer-on, playing behind his back etc. Quite possibly the single worst performance I have ever seen. His guitar playing was no better than a twelve year olds.

I was waiting on line at the potopots with a couple of my guitar playing buddies (who are really good) and talking about how bad this performance really was when a guy walked up with TESLA all over his body. patches, stickers, backstage lammies etc. the Tesla fan to end all Tesla fans.

He got all defensive about us slamming his hero. He told us that "Frank Hannon was the best guitarist in the world" and we should not even be talking like that. I told him "he wasn't even the best guitarist in the park". everyone just cracked up. True it was.

6. Oh, thank goodness I'm not the only person that thinks so.
Being local doesn't make them not blow. Same goes for Cake- I do wish somebody would let the local radio people know.

7. Another Sacto opinion...
They are on the level of a very accomplished bar band. I wouldn't say they suck, but they are nothing special either. Every band is going to have its local "they're great 'cuz they're from here" syncophants.

9. He was okay - certainly helped forward science a bit, though he was a tad loony.
