The Alfred Hitchcock Hour scared the living crap out of me

when I was a kid, I shouldn't have been watching it but it was early in television's days and we didn't know the effect it could have. One episode in particular "Final Escape", gave me nightmares for years. It was about a prisoner on Devils Island who made a deal with the prison doctor to be hidden in the coffin of the next prisoner who died, the doctor would then come and dig him up and he could escape.

So, next time someone died the guy gets hidden in the coffin and buried alive with the corpse, he waits and waits and waits for Doc to come and dig him up. He's yelling Doc, Doc, nothing happens, he lights a match for some reason and the blanket separating him from the corpse shifts to reveal Doc.

Now, I can buy the series if I want, I don't know though that sum bitch gave me the willies for years, I'd probably still have nightmares of getting buried alive.
