1. Great. Another 865 MB download and install to apply updates that will freeze my PC.
Thanks for the warning. I *HATE* I-Tunes x(

2. Exactly.
I wish I hadn't downloaded the latest one (before this newest one).

It even gives my relatively new computer a fit.

5. Strange
I've had no problems. I only had problems with one of the downloads. Try uninstalling iTunes and QuickTime. Delete those entries from your registry then download and install iTunes again.

7. PCs are designed to freeze. One of the things they do best.

4. Take a look at MediaMonkey.....

It's badass! I don't even have iTunes on my pc. Don't need it because Media Monkey (only the pay version, I think) handles all that bizness for me. The only thing you'd be SOL on is if you actually buy music from Apple - there's not an iTunes Store interface in Media Monkey.

My 2 FAVE things about MM are the abilities to grab album covers via Amazon with almost no effort and being about to encode/decode/re-encode music on the fly. That last one is HUGE for me since the greater portion of my collection is in FLAC format. I'm able to grab a couple of FLAC albums, tell it to re-encode them as (cbr or vbr at whatever bitrate I choose) mp3s before depositing them on the ipod. The original FLACs are left untouched. I LOVE that.

10. Does iTunes know what mood you're in?
It's freaky. Today i set it to play at random, .... and it's playing all the chilled out laid back acoustical stuff. Folk music, Al Dimeola, Perfect for Sunday relaxing.

11. I always wait at least a month
to download the latest updates so they can get the bugs out of it. I refuse to download it the minute a new one is available.
