7. I am in the movie....
For about one second. When the chick is hooting, they cut away to a larger shot. I am the guy in the white TShirt hooting.

My girlfriend at the time, Eileen..is the girl that is dancing in the short-ass Levis skirt and wifebeater top dancing in the hallway that they concession guy is drolling over. Still pissed she got more screen time than I did. Wonder why?

28. It might be before....
Been a long time since I have seen it. It does look like I am throwing something, in reality I am taking my hands from my face after Hooting.

I know it is right around that scene.

Great job of sleuthing. I love it, god I was so young then.......20. man that brings me way back to the day......Winterland was MY HOUSE. i saw so many great shows there, so Many GD shows, the Stones, The Who, traffic, Joe Cocker (he puked on me), Bowie (Ziggy). we used to go at least twice a week from Sac. 2 bucks for gas, go sell a few photos outside and go to the show.

34. How cool to be a part of that document.
Long time fans deserve some real credit for the phenomenon.

The set up...as documented in movie...was so laborious that only multi nite runs were possible. Fans would show up night after night; band would try and not repeat too much and truly explore; more fans would come knowing that things were malleable and unpredictable and give the band permission to fail; the band would go even further out; repeat for what--on some nights--seemed like infinity.

:hi:

I used to love the Boulder shows and think that they laid the foundation for the great bands that are coming out of that area now, like String Cheese and Leftover Salmon, The Motet and so many others.

to grieve...

course the park officially closes at dusk and this went on well after that...candles, pix put up as part of shrines and music music music from portables.
the cops showed up about 11, and everybody expected the badass mpls. cops to shut it down, but after a few of the elders explained what he meant to us they relented.....they let us take it well past midnight...

Almost posted a where's P-Boy thread. Got so used to seeing you here all the time when I got to log on at nights.

This is from the bonus of the GD movie, right?

I think I missed you.

19. Darkstar...
very good to see you. :hi: and I hope that you and yours are doing just fine. Missed seeing you around also...I have been on here only occasionally lately.

Yes, this is from the bonus material, which, for the benefit of those who have not seen it, shows individual segments of each player's instrument individually during the "UJB" portion of the jam which starts at 4:45 in the video in the original post.

It is during these segments that, in my opinion, one can see the brilliance of these musicians. To hear each of the instruments individually, and then hear how everything meshes together, is awe inspiring.

Take care of yourself my friend...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVdTQ3OPtGY

I just saw Rat Dog in concert a few weeks ago and they did "Ripple". I had tears streaming from my eyes. Sure, it was just Bob Weir but it was still great to see it performed live
