Jesus I hate my fucking neighbors
They called the fucking cops on me again. I was upset because my grandmother died. Jesus I hate these stupid fucking pieces of shit.

The cop insisted on coming inside- said I had to let him in so he could check if there was a man here even though I told him there wasn't. Fucking asshole cop; fucking asshole neighbors.

1. Man sorry you have to go through
that shit to...
Why would they call the cops???
Don't the cops know, since its not the first time, that the neighbors
are the trouble makers calling for no reason??

2. Entertaining a man is illegal now?
Your neighbors called the cops cause they thought you had a man in your house?

That's just looopy.

Sorry about grandma.

4. He told me they reported a man's voice
So either they lied or he did to come in.

Apparently they thought there was a fight; I have no idea why. I was upset so I was probably making more noise than usual.

I am moving out; I am going to try and get out of my lease with no penalty because they are harassing me as far as I am concerned.

3. uhm, based on what reason did they insist on coming in?
a "man in the house" is that a crime now?

reasonable suspicion that a crime was being committed vs a search warrant.

constitution much?

sorry Alarimer

5. He claimed it was because of some domestic violence law
Something I admit to knowing nothing about. The neighbors lied about hearing a man's voice.

6. wtf?
sounds strange... i mean if they believe that you are being abused based on the neighbor's reports, they may indeed be able to insist on entering.

Why the neighbors would do that is beyond me.

sorry that sucks

7. They are checking for domestic violence.
I would have thought that was obvious. The neighbors probably claimed there was a fight, so the cops were making sure there wasn't a man inside holding a gun to a kid's head. Don't blame the cops on that one, it's her stinkin' neighbors.

8. after her explanation it is obvious
i obviously don't have the powers of understanding the situation that you do, but it all makes sense except the fucking neighbors reasons.

10. I would have blessed any neighbors I had who called the police on my husband
I realize you didn't have a real domestic violence situation on your hands and it sounds like your neighbors have caused you trouble in the past. However, too many people don't bother calling the cops when they suspect violence in someone else's home.

Don't blame the cops - if they were told that a domestic violence situation may be happening, they should insist on coming in. Plenty of people try to hide that shit out of fear or shame.

As for the neighbors, if they're assholes, they're assholes and I'm sorry. And sorry about your grandmother's passing.

12. No. I most certainly blame the neighbors
I think THEY were the ones who lied. I think it's the same jackasses that have done this before.

They have also called them when the TV was too loud for their tastes, even though they do the same damn thing. In that case it was "Walk the Line"- the music in that film was much louder than the conversation so it was hard to find a balance.

So now I've got my radio turned up. Just enough to be annoying. I am not going to be nice to them anymore.

14. Evidently they thought so.
I have never once called anyone on them, although I can hear THEIR exercise machine (I guess that's what it is) at 11 o'clock at night right above my bed. Or their TV or the fact they walk like a herd of elephants.

13. Sorry you should have to go through that
Neighbors can pretty much do a lot of things to one another that no one else could get away with.

I mean, you can't arrest them for loitering or trespassing because they live where they do.

I had neighbors who called the cops because my thirteen year old son walked on the sidewalk in front of their house to get home from school. Even after he began using the center of the street to get to our house, they still called the police.

The San Rafael CA police were like "Sorry. But we have to check it out whenever there is a complaint."

And we are talking about one lone kid with his school books - rather quiet, not carrying a boom box or letting lose with firecrackers or anything.

And yes, we moved!!

15. sorry you had to go through that, for anybody else:
I'm sure if I was a victim I might want them to insist/force their way in, (well maybe not - knowing how a lot of abuse victims tend to react) but my citizen hackles are up - no warrant, no entry in my book.
