The fleas are back!!!!
Oh, who are we kidding? They never left. They just wanted to fool me into thinking they'd left, so I'd let my guard down.

So far, this time, I've sprinkled DE on the carpeting to be vacuumed up tomorrow, sprinkled DE on the critters, and bought two new dog beds with cedar-fill. I probably should have replaced the dog beds before. I've also taken advice given here, and put vinegar in the critters' water.

Any other advice is welcome. It's high noon in Flea Town.

It's on, fleas! IT IS ON!!

2. Years ago when vets started selling the combined
heartroom and flea pill my homes have been flea free. Have you tried this? In the meantime, you may have to fog your house to kill the ones that are there now.

3. My dog was on Sentinel last summer.
It was the first time she ever had fleas. I gave it to her religiously the first of every month. So, I know from firsthand experience that it doesn't' work. So, we switched to Advantage this year. Fleas again.

The problem with Sentinel is that the fleas have to bite the dog for the pill to work...the poison is carried in the dog's bloodstream. It kills them AFTER they've bitten. What's the point of that?!

So, yes, I've used it. No, it doesn't work.

5. I might be wrong, but it doesn't kill them
it simply renders them infertil so they can not reproduce. You have to get rid of all the fleas you have first then start the regimen of Sentinel or whatever you want. I hope you find a solution soon.

6. I pick them off by hand
and drown the little suckers. They cannot swim. So a bath might help too, but they tend to survive, somehow, in the fur, but also can be easier to spot on a wet dog.

Plus I use one of those spot-kill things and spray the bedding.

Of course, the grooming thing probably won't work with felines. My dogs hate it too, so it might not even work with a dog who is big enough to prevent it.

7. So far, the cats don't show any signs of 'em
No scratching, no sign of 'em in the fur of the light colored ones. I'm wondering if it has to do with nutrition. My cats all eat Wysong. Different Wysong kinds--one eats "Vitality", one eats "Uretic", and one eats "Geriatrix". My dog's been eating Natural Life and Natural Balance, but I'm thinking maybe I should change her food--at least during flea season.

And she got the fleas in spite of being treated with a spot-on. That's what's so frustrating. She got fleas while she was on Advantage. Then I tried some natural things--because I didn't want to ddouble-dose her with the Advantage. I thought that solved it, but they're back.

I'm thinking a bath may be the next thing to do. She hates them, but enough is enough!
