Britney didn't REALLY suck...

she was shtupping Criss Angel, who was supposed to do the routine with her, and it was canceled.

So she was really really good, and the apparent suckage was Angel's greatest illusion.

but I saw him at the airport in Vegas. Sat right next to for about an hour. He was rather unattractive in person.

Short, scruffy, pale... it was a disappointment.

What's up with that? Are guys who look like they are hooked on heroin hot?

Badly put together, badly rehearsed. I'm assuming that a lot of people
have made a ton of money from Britney Spears' career...where were they?
Why would they send her out so ill prepared and ill supported?
Of course, I've always assumed that she's one of those company-packaged phenoms...
sang as she was coached to sing, danced as she was coached to dance in carefully precision-drilled dance numbers, provided
with "sure fire" material (not my taste, but who cares?). The clips of that number
look to me like they just threw her to the wolves.
And I am in NO way a Britney Spears fan.

Apparently, she was out partying the whole weekend rather than preparing for her "comeback" performance. It's very little wonder she was out of sorts during her number.

and I'm just surprised that the crowd that DID invent her clearly didn't do very much to protect their invention.
I certainly don't want to start a "poor Britney" thread. I'm talking about cold calculating management here.
In the old Hollywood, the Louis B. Mayers and the like kept their "talent" from hurting their
own images whenever they could--even if it meant locking them out of sight.
Surely they had some indication ahead of time that she wasn't up to it...whatever the reason. She could have
(should have) been tucked out of sight suffering from some sudden mystery malady. That is, if anybody thinks
she's got anything left worth exploiting except trouble. Maybe she doesn't. And I guess cute Pop Tarts are interchangable.
(I know, I know. The Old Hollywood is long gone. But I have to admit, I miss it.)

She hasn't shown very good judgement recently, that's for sure. I hope she was smart with her money because it might dry up in the near future. I doubt it though.

i try to stay out of these threads cos it is easy pickings to slam her. i really do feel sorry for her. then i think about the money...and meh, it is hard to find the pity. i think craig ferguson said it best about her in his monologue back in june, i think.

I saw about five seconds of her flailing around on stage, as if she was having a seizure, and it was all I could stomach. Her ex has more talent, and that's certainly no compliment.
