21. That is the summit of Mt Liberty

It really wasn't as cold as the hat and gloves would indicate but it was pretty chill at that moment with a brisk wind and the caretaker in the tent side just below the ridge had given us dire warnings so we bundled up and just didn't unbundle at that point.

Mt Liberty is in Franconia Notch NH.

It's one of the 48 4K footers in NH that we are trying to complete, we also did Mt Flume that day.

I'm sure I was travelling north to Basel, where I had friends. I'd have to dig up my journals from back then.

There was a lass I knew from Frankfurt. I passed without phoning her, because I'd hitched in and hadn't changed money (pre-Euro days). Later when I told her, she said she would have given me the money to phone her.:D
