4. Theres a Pirate Festival going on in St Louis this weekend
and for the next 3 weeks. They're running it like a Renaissance Festival, trying to show people what life was like during that time period in the Carribean. And you can talk like a pirate all you want!

We were 20 degrees west o' Curacao, just north o' the shining Spanish port o' Panama, when we turned a-leeward and unfurled the mainmast, bound for the Spaniards and glory. Yarrrr... As when a ship o' the line caught us a port and grapeshot us all to hell.

"Call the sawbones!" I yelled, a-holdin' me slop from the fordeck. "I got a pain in me gizzards!" Twas not long after we made our way ashore in a longship, The Revenge havin' sundered and me holdin' in my guts for the livin'. Twas a goddamned miracle I survived, and there an end to that.
