I think I may be leaving broadcast journalism...
Edited on Sun Sep-16-07 02:20 PM by HEyHEY
I don't want to. But I'm just not making the dollas'. I work radio and TV and only make about $44,000 a year, if I work full time, which I don't. I'm a casual, so I only get about three to four days a week. With student loans and shit to pay.... I'm just living paycheque to paycheque.
At the major daily here you start as a reporter at at $61,000 a year, I'm sure I could get in there as I also have print experience. I don't want to go back to print, but I need to make some money so I can do the things I want to, such as hit Afghanistan for some journalism. Until I can make enough to save, that's just not going to happen. So, that's what I think I'm gonna do. Any thoughts?

1. Sad for me
I'm entering a career in Journalism. Up from $11,000, 61 grand is a raise.

The world's tough out there for everyone. A living wage isn't there for most people in the blessed USA!

3. I thought about going into that field...
Photojournalism.

I'd love to work $44k/yr for only 3~4 days' work. Or $61k for a full week's job of doing something I'd love.

That's the problem.
