LCDs are plastic and polymers. Highly specialized stuff.

BTW: The Soyo 24D6 (the MT-GW-DYLM24D6) is a steal if you can find it at $299, but I'd pay $399 for it anyway -- better than any other budget-minded 24" monitor out there.
