I've never seen it before and I don't have tivo, so it's going to be a very late night.

1. Awesome!
I've seen it before, but I'll flip it on w/ the sound down while I do my show. It pretty much killed Tod Browning's career, but it's an essential film to see at least once. And there are some genuinly creepy scenes at the climax of the film..

3. I've read about it since I was a kid, so there'll probably be no surprises
for me, but I'm glad that I'm finally going to be able to see it. Damn film's been eluding me for decades.

4. Have you seen "The Unholy Three"?
It's on just before Freaks, and though it's very creaky, it's invaluable for being Lon Chaney's only talking film...

6. Overrated, but not bad.
Then again, I'm afraid of midgets, too, so who am I to talk?

Once upon a time, when I managed a movie theater, and we ran special movies for Halloween. Everything from the original Dracula to the original Friday the Thirteenth. "Freaks" was one of them. Most people -- Stewie-voiced, indie movie, "I'm going to the coffee shop afterwards so I can debrief" type people -- came out and said, "Can I get my money back?"

7. That reminds me of the little indie movie theater I went to in college.
After you bought your ticket and went to the snack counter, the person from the ticket counter had to come over and serve you your popcorn. The theater always smelled musty. There was only one projector, so there was always an intermission while the projectionist (the same person who sold you your ticket and your popcorn) changed reels. I saw some great indie and foreign films there, though!

10. I liked it!
Not only did they look like they were having a blast, but every one of the so-called "freaks" gave better performances than every one of the so-called "actors". It's definitely a must-see, but I don't think I must see it again. :)

13. I got it from netflix a few months ago.
Not as "horrific" as I expected but a decent romp. As someone said the "actors" were as stiff as the straight couples in a Marx Brother's movie.
