One unexpected consequence of supporting Hillary...
I've never thought much about the prejudice in our society against women. Even when I noticed some examples, they didn't really register with me the implications.

Now after a few months of supporting & talking about Hillary in my area, I've come face to face with negative opinions that have nothing to do with her position, her voting record, or her skills, but, instead, focus on the fact that she is a woman. That just blew me away.

I've found myself for the first time really thinking about some of the double standards that exist between the sexes and, for the first time, listening to what feminists have been saying for years.

So, even though many here don't want her to be the next president, she has forced this stubborn old southern boy to start calling himself a feminist. That's pretty amazing.

1. I'm not afraid to say that I support her
and the fact that she's a woman is a large reason why. To me, there is nothing more important than breaking down one of the highest glass ceilings in this nation--the American Presidency.

I'd be perfectly pleased to see a Clinton/Obama ticket. Since we're breaking down the oldest glass ceiling in human history (sexism), we might as well go for the second-oldest (racism) too. :hi:

3. I think her campaign is going to open even more eyes to
how much sexism still exists in this country, which is a good thing. It opened mine anyway.
