that new Adult Swim show Blue Gender is pretty great

I just hope they didn't edit it, which I can see with something that violent. I missed that Fooly Cooly or whatever they're showing before it now but I heard the show is like someone on a drug trip scribbling down random shit. anyone seen it?

Personally I was thrilled to death that Ren and Stimpy is back, the way the creators really wanted it to be before Nickelodeon ruined it. I can only wonder why the hell they had to put it on TNN along with Striperella and Gary the Rat or whatever. Striperella had to be about the worst thing I'd ever seen. :puke:

a kid who has a terminal disease and is cryogenically frozen so he be brought back at a time when there's a cure. So he comes out in the year 2031 and the Earth is being attacked by giant alien bugs. The first episode was pretty cool.

was very VERY weird, to the point where you basically had to take EVERYTHING at face value. When one girl said she's an alien, well, you just sort of accept it, cause there's no point in trying to make sense out of any of it. I don't know why, but even though I didn't understand what the hell was going on most of the time (and probably have VERY false hopes of them actually explaining it later) I did like it. Don't know why.

Is done by the people who did Evangelion, so that should explain the weirdness. MAN, I love the music in FLCL! It's some of the best in all of modern anime, imo. That and I adore all the characters too.

Blue Gender bored me however; and I turned it off after 10 minutes.

The show is outright weird, from psycho chicks on Vespas (what's up with Vespas lately?........They're the wussiest things on two wheels next to Bush on a dirty bike, but they're showing up everywhere.), to giant robots popping out of a kid's forehead, to a hot 20-something homeless girl trying to bang a 13 year old. I thought the first episode of Big O, Season Two was odd.


I have to agree, Blue Gender is rather boring......and is it me or does the lead character seem like the first openly gay superhero on TV? I mean, he got a little too dreamy when his friend with dreadlocks shows up at the gas station (in a flashback). And what was up with the butt shots?

They are doing a series about the music people are listening too these days and a girl started talking about FLCL and its theme song as one of her faves.

It was done as a classic gangster era film, with the gangster accents and all. Pretty compelling

Thought it was a series at first but they brought it to an end. Nothing like penguins to make prison funny.
