Yay! I'm running in an election!
Nothing serious, but my university student government has a newly vacant seat! This will be my first ever election, I need to get a mini wallet-sized picture of Hillary to carry around & inspire me

Funny sidenote: Last year CUSA (the student government) ruled that we would prevent funding/space/recognition of anti-choice groups. As a result, we endured the wrath of freerepublic.com-

1. Good luck with that
Student Government folks always seem to have the best beer and wine.

:toast:

About that sidenote: Using the student government charter to stifle groups you don't agree with seems like a form of fascism. Liberal fascism, perhaps. Bragging about it on these internets just invites a lawsuit. ACLU might even back those fundies on this one.

2. There was no "stifling"
They could still come and speak, we just weren't going to fund them to do so. You wouldn't fund the KKK to come give a chat, would you?

5. Well, your OP said you denied them space & recognition too
As for funding, if a government funds a group of one political leaning and not another, they're open to criticism, maybe a suit. If a govt provides recognition, space to one group and not another, there's more grounds.

Criticising the government is cool. Being the government is probably more of a hassle. You can't let your biases look like discrimination. Have fun.
