Just for your information:VAN HALEN KICKED ASS OPENING NIGHT.
Eddie was playing like I have never before witnessed. Like he does in the videos from the early 80s/late 70s.(I'm too young to remember myself, sorry)
Alex was just as good, his energy level never waned; his solo was beeeautiful. Blew me away.
Dave can still sing. ALL OF IT. Didn't miss a note that I could hear.
Two hours. A full two hours.
Wolfie is fine, can hold the bottom line for these guys just fine, thankyouverymuch. I love MA; and am still upset that they dumped him, but this experience for an 18 year old has got to be priceless. He doesn't mess it up. His backing vocals are fine and strong.
Only glitches were that Dave seemed to have a timing problem on one song; coming in early. Probably his monitor.
Vocals were tight. They sounded INCREDIBLE.

Not going to spoil the setlist for ya, in case you get to see them, but they played almost EVERYTHING you would expect from this grouping of VH.

Ed looked like a little kid. Was having a blast.

Do yourself a favor. Don't miss it.

1. The words "Van Halen" and "kicked ass" just don't belong together.

2. Thanks for the update
I didn't even know the tour had started.

I never liked VH after David Lee Roth left. I even went to see Roth solo when Steve Vai played guitar for him way back when... I never liked Hagar, and didn't even listen when the next guy came aboard.

But, I haven't been to a concert this century, and I think the last one I saw was when David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails played together. I'd feel strange as a 40 year old at a concert, even though I'm probably right in the middle of VH's current demographic.

4. I wish I could have seen that one
David and Trent were a great team, judging by some of their works together.

Van Halen on the other hand, totally suck at everything.

JUMP!

5. I'm so glad to hear it was great!
I've always liked Van Halen.

I was particularly concerned about Eddie.
It sounds like he's doing OK- that's great news.

Thanks for the info- I'm glad you had a great
time at the concert.

:-) :hi:
