iPod music question
I am going to use my $100 iPhone rebate to buy an iPod nano. I have imported a good chunk of CDs into iTunes ready to import.

I have a CD, Essential ELO and plan to import it. When I pruchased my iPod Shuffle, I went to the iTunes store and downloaded an ELO song not on the CD (Fire On High). What I want to do is import the CD and then append the downloaded song onto that CD so if I select the CD and list it, Fire On High will be listed one of it's tracks.

I am assuming that I can import the CD select the songs and using GetInfo, "bump" the track count up by one and stuck the song on (I'm at work now). Is that the way to do it or is there another way?

1. I think it'll be easy.

Depending on where you put your stuff, you may be able to just drag and drop the song into the CD playlist.

Then again, I may be oversimplifying.

edit: if it's not this easy, how'd I end up with "Get Up, Stand Up" on "Paul's Boutique" in my iTunes?

2. I think all you have to do is edit the info
Right click on the song. On the Info tab, simply change the album to the one you want (if it is not the same). Or you could edit all the ELO tracks to say they are from the same album. But it is probably easier to edit the Album info of the track you bought to say "Essential ELO".

6. Thats what I figured ...
I also have some random songs I've burned in and I figured I'd make a "custom CD" and import those.

Thanks :hi:

3. How do you add CDs to your iTunes?
I have a bunch of CDs I'd love to get on my iPod.

Does it record the CD all together or in singles, like the rest of iTunes?

just insert the CD and if it doesn't come up, select iTunes. The CD should load and if you are online the CD title and track listings will appear. All the tracks will be checked; you can uncheck any tracks you don't want. Click Import CD, it should be on the bottom right, the first button will Import and the second one will eject.

When you are done, you can treat them just like any other music you have on there. If you import all the songs from a CD and add to a playlist, the songs will play like a CD, playing in order.
