Jesus fucking Christ.

No wonder we're fucked up.

I've not been paying much attention to the world with my cold, but just watched last night's Daily Show and he showed clips of a hearing about hip hop lyrics (goddamned waste of our government's time, even though I, too, would love to see that ugly shit disappear) and a completely legal newspaper ad (the moveon.org one), also an utter waste of our leaders' (and I use that term only in its most technical sense) time.

Fucking jackasses.

2. They did this back in the fifties with Louie Louie lyrics.
Everybody was upset when Rupert Murdoch bought the Wall Street Journal. Apparently he bought Congress when nobody was looking.

10. And lots of other music.
The history of "freedom" in this country is pretty goddamned sad once you lift off the veneer. Or whatever the hell that phrase is the last word of which I can't remember.

4. Wag the Dog.
Politicians are only ever interested in maintaining their posts. When things show up as out of control, they'll pick an easy target to provide the perception that they are =doing something=. People will calm down and smile, and politicians will continue raking in the money and favors.

War on porn.
War on drugs.
War on terror.

War on war?

12. I believe that everything in my post is from other people.
I'm glad to pass it along.

Fortunately, people are getting tired of this system. Unfortunately, it's gone world-wide. Root word being "fortune".

14. Don't they hold hearings on song lyrics about once every five or ten years?
It's like the government is saying "You can listen to whatever you want, just as long as we approve of it first."
