Saturday, September 29th. William Shakespeare's Thought For The Day:

"They have a plentiful lack of wit..."

Hamlet, Act II, Scene 2, Line 198.

So plentiful a lack that they were cancelled. Conservatives just can't bring the funny...

1. My dear Aristus!
I have to admit that their slogan/logo is funny!

But the program didn't live up to it?

Too bad!

Excellent, as always, sweetie!

I thank you...

BTW, did I miss yesterday's? I didn't see it...

I'll check your journal...

3. No worries!
I understand about not having enough time...

I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed it........

Cause I never want to let one slip by me unseen!

5. Thanks, livetohike. I like doing them. Ever since I started here at DU back in 2001,
I wanted to make a name for myself with a distinctive daily feature in the Lounge.

There have been some really good ones in the past, and some still today: "Today In The DU Lounge", "The Underground Railroad", "The Daily Poetry Thread", "Milestones", and others.

I admit I cribbed the idea for mine from a series of articles in the old MAD Magazine: "William Shakespeare, Movie Critic", and "William Shakepeare, Political Commentator" and so on. Same concept; a photo of a current figure and a relevant and usually funny quote from one of the plays. Thought I'd put my knowledge of the Bard to work for me here at DU. B-)

7. This is excellent!
Is there some reason that you do not post this in GD?

8. Well, the Lounge was really created for vanity posts such as these.
Edited on Sat Sep-29-07 06:59 PM by Aristus
It never really occurred to me to post them in GD. Besides, the GD regulars don't really know me; I'm a Lounge Lizard. I had a small but solid base of friends even before I started WSTFTD.

Welcome to DU, Tuesday Afternoon! :hi:

on edit: Tuesday, you can see all previous WSTFTDs in my journal.
