Ex-con/socialite Paris Hilton appeared on "Late Night With David Letterman" last night -- and is sorry she did! The sardonic TV host harassed Hilton about her summer stay in the pokey -- and she wasn't having any of it.

At one point during the interview, an audience member screamed, "I love you Paris!" Letterman quipped, "Is that somebody you met in prison?" Ha! As the crowd erupted in laughter, Paris paused and said, "I didn't come here to talk about this. That was a long time ago. Now you're making me sad that I came."

Letterman then apologized and had Paris purring again.

I watched the clip, and Dave was being a dick. I'm guessing when she agreed to do the show, there was some agreement over how much (if any) time would be spent talking about prison. Some may say her 15 minutes are long over, but she certainly is in a position where she doesn't need to put up with that crap. She's on the show often enough that she probably considers Dave at least a "work friend" and I'd say she merits a little more consideration. Say what you like about her, and she's made some stupid choices (largely in whom she places her trust), but she's still a person. I think she maintained her composure quite well and was the bigger person of the two of them.
