Please, everybody do a rain dance....
and send it over here. The weather forecast is calling for "areas of drizzle" tonight and early tomorrow morning. Please make it so!

Try to make it even better than a drizzle...We were over 3" short for the month of September.

I've heard about places in VA that only have a little over 3 months supply of water in their reservoirs. :-(

1. May you get the next storm that would otherwise hit us here.
My joints would appreciate a little bit less rain. :)

5. We should have had some of the rain you're getting...
But there's a high-pressure system stalled over the Atlantic that's keeping the rain from coming south. It's frustrating to be so close and yet so far.

13. It isn't missing Florida. I don't think my garage is ever gonna dry out.
We had four days of solid hard rain which had me googling for Ark plans, and my front covered in three to five inches or water. And we have had rain almost every day since.

But then this might just be a foretaste of what is to come. The home insurance policy that we have had for twenty-nine years was just canceled with a terse, two paragraph letter and three months notice. Not even a "thank you for doing business with us in the past."

Our independent agent tells us that several other home insurance companies are divesting themselves of Floida policies too, because they all believe Florida will be under water in the next decade or so...

16. The bastards!
You should have every penny you invested refunded. You kept them in business for almost 30 years!

17. Yup. My DH is really ticked that they didn't even thank us. Not good
business, because we could always move to a low risk state and need insurance.

(But that probably won't happen. Same DH refuses to even consider it. I'm probably gonna drown when the sea comes calling. :( )

10. Oh, I see...Yes.
They are Tohono O'odham Indians who apparently danced in Tuscon. I got the photo from the net. :hi:

11. The man in the maze caught my eye.

The figure above is known as the "Man in the maze," an emblem of the
Tohono O'odham Nation of Southern Arizona (formerly known as the
Papago Indians). The design, depicting a man exiting a labrynth,
is most often seen on basketry dating back as far as the nineteenth century,
and occasionally in Hopi silver art. Labrynths are common motifs in ancient
petroglyphs (Native American rock art), and often resemble those found in ancient
Greece and other parts of the world.

This symbol is said to represent a person's journey through life.
Although the design appears to be a maze, it is actually a unicursal
figure with many twists and turns; these are said to represent choices
made in life. The center is dark, as the journey is one from darkness to light.

14. Thanks for the info!
I would love to spend time learning about Native American cultures, comparing and contrasting them.

7. Seems like we should have a pipeline system...
to send relief to those in need and take overflow from areas that are super-saturated.

12. That's part of the reason we are so dry..
We haven't had any tropical systems get anywhere near us this year! I don't want another Isabelle obviously but thats what we need...I heard this morning that Dulles Airport is 13 inches below normal for the year......
