3. That set was just dripping with all the nihilism that permeated the Reagan era
A nice bout of drug fueled sarcasm, that was.

I like this Zappa set better

17. First one I thought of when I saw the thread header
Ahhhh Elvis.

I was just listening to "Radio Radio" yesterday, come to think of it. Sad that its message is even more relevant these days.

15. Elvis Costello was the most classic to me
Filling in for the Sex Pistols and changing the song at the last second. Then being banned from SNL. That's just too "Rock and Roll".

23. Oh yeahhhh
That was my second choice after Elvis. GREAT pairing! Plus the benefit of George "arguing" about his fee with Lorne Michaels. "Pretty chintzy..."

After that, "pretty chintzy" entered the lexicon of me and my fellow Beatlemaniacs!

28. This poll isn't useless!
Everyone's all "Elvis Costello! Elvis Costello! Elvis Costello!" when asked this question. Yeah, that appearance was noteworthy, but I prefer a giant reality-splattered middle finger to mainstream America by a no-business-being-on-NBC band daring enough to invite stagediving DC fans to a NY studio and singing double entendre-laced punk anthems to a slightly quirky moment by an already-critically-acclaimed future Hall Of Famer.
