Planters warts...owie
So there's this little wart on the bottom of my heel.

How do I get rid of the little bugger?

1. You used to have to have a doc freeze it off,
but I've seen commercials for something you can use at home.

My sister used to get these often when we were in high school. And pilonidal cysts. Come to think of it, she was quite the attention whore :)

12. duct tape. seriously. I will ask my daughter exactly what it was her pediatrician
had her do but it involved duct tape on the foot to hold in the meds>

Also a friend of mine was plagued with them and her boss (a radiologist)injected the perimeter of the thing (it was HUGH!!!!!!1111) with lidocaine and it fell off. Little teeny injections all around the thing. She said the first two hurt and after that she didn't feel anything. Apparantly it cuts off circulation to the root?

I don't know but the duct tape worked for my daughter.

Watch for my followup to this post later tonight.

3. I went to the podiatrist who cut them out after giving me shots in the foot.
it hurt so bad that when I had two more, I cut them out myself. Not to be graphic but be sure that you get the root of the wart and not just the tops. I used a scapel, a lighter to sanitize the blade and cauderize the hole, tweezers to pull everything out of the wound, and alcohol to clean up afterwards. It was kinda gruesome, but the scars from my 'procedure' are smaller than from the podiatrist.

1. soak your foot in warm water for several minutes to soften up the skin.

2. use the scapel to make a few, rather deep cuts through the entire wart in an "x" shape pattern.

3. use the tweezers to remove all of the wart.

4. use the lighter to heat up the tweezers and scapel to sanize and cauderize the wound.

5. alcohol after the fact kills any germs.

Better yet, go to a podiatrist for the first one, then you can handle the rest on your own.

Good luck

6. cheap, easy, and effective
"pain is fear leaving the body", it hurts just a tad, but is tons easier than dealing with docs and insurance and etc

Caveat: I am not actually qualified to give medical advice. When in doubt, consult a physician.

11. The term is "plantar" meaning "on the sole of the foot".
Not "planter's" as in farmers or a brand of Peanuts.

Thank you, the Medical Terminology Police. (I have a degree in Biology).

14. Amputate immediately!
At the hip, if you really want to be sure.

They sell kits with which you can do the procedure at home.

15. Stick compound w on it and cover it with duct tape. Leave the duct tape on for a week
or two.
When you take the duct tape off the wart will be gone.

17. The OTC remedies usually take forever to work. Go to the Doc.
He can cut most away and treat the root very effectively.

I got a case of warts from a professional pedicure. Ewwwwwwwww.
