Today I am 4 years sober.

This was my best year in sobriety so far. I got married, moved into a beautiful home, and added a whole new wonderful family (his) to my life. I am keenly aware that none of this would be possible if it weren't for sobriety. I am so grateful! :) Celebrate with me!

106. The workout routine fell by the wayside, but the sobriety thing's still going!

Hee! Although the husband and I have been really good at getting some physical exercise every day for a couple of weeks now...I hope it continues! We were really lazy just after the wedding - exhausted by the whole thing, I guess. But I feel so much better when I exercise every day! Thanks. :)

I've been blessed with much over the last 22 years of sobriety myself. So much seemed impossible but it wasn't and that's not to say there hasn't been heartache and pain along the way. What's the difference between me and someone who doesn't have 22 years of not drinking? One day. Just one day. I could throw it all away in a flash, but today, I choose not to. Exactly. We only have today. I think it's a wonderful philosophy for life, not just sobriety, as so much of the program is in my opinion. If our political leaders had the "we only have today" belief, the world would be very different, wouldn't it? 22 years is amazing! I hope to follow in your footsteps, one day at a time. :hug:

Each year, I learn more on this journey. It's been an amazing adventure, for sure. Sometimes that learning can be, erm, somewhat PAINFUL, but I suppose that's the same for everyone, recovering alcoholic or not! Thank you! :bounce:
