I believe those people who score the lowest on Civil Service tests get Exec jobs at US Post Office
Edited on Wed Oct-10-07 11:56 AM by LynneSin
So I needed to buy some postcard stamps today and figured I could quick run into the Post Office and buy it from one of the 4 various stamp machines they have in the lobby. But some dumbass post office executive in DC came up with the bright idea of creating an ATM style stamp machine that's suppose to automate all your postal needs including buying postage for packages AND it's available 24hrs a day.

Seriously - who is the dumbass who thought up this idea.

Mind you some features seem pretty decent BUT.....

1.) If you are someone who lives a lifestyle without a credit or debit card you are shit-out-of-luck
2.) If you want to buy anything other than your standard regular mail post stamp then again you are shit-out-of-luck
3.) Finally, there is only one machine in the post office so if you have some slow-ass person trying to figure out this piece of crap you're stuck there waiting almost as long as if I had to wait in line at the regular postal counter.

Who is the dumbass that came up with this dumbass idea

:grr:

So what would have taken me 10 minutes ended up taking me 30 minutes so I could buy a book of postcard stamps

3. Is this a machine that looks like an ATM
or one of the regular stamp machines (which I've gotten gold dollar bills from too)

4. At the airport post office here, they yanked those machines.
Apparently, some people use them to mail stuff like bombs and other non-TSA-approved materials. :P You can print postage, including package postage, online now, but just TRY to drop it off at the post office without getting the third degree from the post office. :eyes: Who'da thunk that bad people would use good methods to mail contraband? :P

Hubby uses online postage for his eBay stuff but may stop now because of the harrassment. :grr:

6. I found those handy... when I needed to go to the post office at midnight.
Other than that, a pain in the hindquarters.

7. For years we have been getting other people's mail. This leads one to wonder...
who gets my mail? We know for a fact that our daughter missed a full ride to Texas AM because the offer letter was never delivered. The postmaster had the nerve to say, "Why would you want her to go there?" Wife jumped down his throat. They are pin heads.
