Um....
So yesterday I found out I was being actively recruited for a similar position at another college. Said recruiter was very aggressive about talking to me right away, and as a result, I'm going to the school to talk to him at 4 PM. I have nothing to lose---I have a job and wasn't looking for the one he's trying to fill. I'll ask some frank questions and be prepared to give some frank answers. However......it's ten minutes away from my house with no traffic to speak of, would pay better than what I'm making now, and wouldn't be quite as much bullshit as what I'm dealing with currently. Downside is that the college president is a complete Freeper (but then again, so is the president where I'm working now :P) and the guy I'd be reporting to has a reputation for being a total jerk.

From where I sit, it appears I'm completely in the driver's seat in this situation. :D I'm not going for any other reason than to gather additional information, so it's not necessary to wish me luck, but I just thought I'd share. :)

1. Ask for the moon
I am in a similar situation where they want me to apply for a job I do not want but would most likely get. The resume is due at 4:30 today. I think I am going to send it ans ask for a 15,000$ raise and see what happens. I love the people I work with now so it would be really hard to leave. Plus I am making what I consider ridiculous money now?

2. Go for it!
:hi: :) If they'll do it, so much the better!

And I'm gonna do the same thing if they offer it to me. I have several major conditions that I will demand before ever accepting the position, and I'll ask for stupid money (that's what my husband calls it when you ask for some ridiculous amount). :) If they agree to everything, I'll consider it. I'm good friends with the woman who left that position, and she's given me the lowdown. She left because she went to work for a friend of hers, but she knows the scoop. :)
