How long does a headache last after...
...well, after drinking too much the night before? Or, for the past 4 nights??

Two hours... four?

I mean, shouldn't four hours... after 2 Motrin.. be enough? :-(

Yes, I am drinking water.

p.s., Not asking medical advice... just some feedback (from, experience, maybe)

3. As long as it will take you to rehydrate yourself
That's been my experience anyway. I can keep the pain at bay with aspirin, but the truly feel normal, I have to get my fluid levels back up.

6. Tea is good
or maybe a little fruit juice in your water (watch the sugar!) for flavor.

Consider a glass or two of Gatorade if you are feeling really poorly. You might need the salt and electrolytes.

I'm a square, as they'd say back in the old days.

9. You're lucky
This is not as bad as I felt after drinking too much wine, once, though.

Guess that's why I wasn't completely sure that's what this is. Still not. But I'll be fine. Thanks.

13. Wow... that is a long time.
I'm sure your liver appreciates it. Did you know that 1 drink kills 10,000 brain cells (read it some place many years ago)? But, supposedly, we have billions. Just hope it didn't kill ones I need.

16. Now that is a terrifying thought! lol
On a serious note, though, janesez, your thread did make me think. While I don't think I have a problem with alcohol - yet - (unless that is denial talking) I don't want one either. I know I need to cool it.

18. Many, many people go through a period in their lives where they drink too much
and then come out the other side of it no worse for wear. Where it starts to get tricky is when your life becomes unmanageable from your drinking. That unmanagageability can manifest in many ways - losing your job, car, spouse...or just feeling like shit all the time and not knowing why. I didn't know I was an alcoholic. I thought I was just doomed/crazy. I tried self-help books, therapy, etc. Nothing worked. When I found out I was just a garden-variety alcoholic and there was a program for me to learn how to live properly, it was a RELIEF.

Good luck in your journey.

ps. eat something with a little caffeine in it. That'll help. :)

15. You won't believe this....
But after I started drinking a "fast-food" (take your pick) vanilla shake the next morning, the hangover goes away lickity split. I told my sister, the heavy duty partier, about it and she used the vanilla shake Rx too. All my friends and I would be drinking shakes Sunday morning.

But I've been a teetoler for 8 years now, so that was in my younger days. Really. Honestly.:D

And yes, it has to be vanilla.

Good luck!

17. After I ate some chocolate (German chocolate I was saving)...
.. a little while ago, some of it went away. I'll be fine. Just had a momentary panic for a minute. Kind of embarrassing, really.
